We know that these are uncertain and difficult times. We also know that as a caring and collaborative community, we will work together to help each other and uphold the spirit of philanthropy that is such a part of our community.
The Summit Foundation is committed to providing support for our community partners who are working so hard on the frontlines to help people in our community. To that end, the Foundation has established a Community Fund to address emergency needs and supplement the Summit County Cares effort in our community.
We are making an initial gift of $100,000 to the Fund from the estate of Harriett Bobo, a beloved volunteer and caring community member. These funds will be provided directly to trusted local community-based organizations such as FIRC and others in order to assist with immediate emergency needs such as food or help for those who are immobile or otherwise compromised. The Summit Foundation will make sure 100% of the Fund will go to critical needs and not duplicate any other available resources.
The needs in the community will be substantial and ongoing. If you are able, please join us by donating to the Fund online at www.summitfoundation.org or through Venmo @TheSummitFoundation. Please mention Summit County Cares (SCC) when making your donation.
We are grateful to everyone who is working so hard to help those in need. Take care, be kind and know that we are here to help now and in the future.
