Friday, November 19, 2010 Recognition of 2009 Philanthropy Award Recipients
The Philanthropy Awards program is an effort made by the foundation to recognize and honor individuals, organizations, businesses and corporations for the time and money contributed to causes of their choice. Every November since 1991, this event has followed a statewide tradition of recognizing philanthropy which also takes place each year in Denver.
Awards are presented in recognition of outstanding contributions in nine categories: Philanthropist, Volunteer, Board Member, Educator, Professional in a Nonprofit Organization, Youth, Youth Mentor, Citizen, Nonprofit/Community Organization and Business and/or Corporation.
Also, since 2001, The Summit Foundation has coordinated the Community Collaboration Award program. This recognition program, established by Shaping Our Summit, honors and recognizes those businesses, nonprofit and government organizations that collaborate to provide community programs and work toward meeting and resolving community needs and issues.
Nominations are sought from throughout Summit County. To submit a nomination, complete the Nomination Criteria Form. You may submit a nomination for more than one category and will be notified if your nominee is selected to receive an award. An Awards Selection Committee, with members representing the business, government, education and nonprofit community, as well as geographic areas of the county, review each nomination. 2010 awards will be presented to the selected nominee in each category at a 5:30 p.m. reception on Friday, November 19th at Keystone Conference Center.
