Annual Great Rubber Duck Races
The Summit Foundation 26th Annual Great Rubber Duck Races
presented by Grand Lodge on Peak 7
August 31, 2013
Breckenridge Riverwalk Center
We are happy to be celebrating 26 years of rubber duck racing! Join us and thousands of spectators on Saturday, August 31st near the Blue River in Breckenridge to enjoy this cornerstone event sponsored by Grand Lodge on Peak 7.
The Kids Duck Dash will kick-off the three duck races at 1 p.m., as 750 ducks are dropped from the Adams Street Bridge into the Blue River. More than 40 prizes for the kids race are being donated by Peak-A-Boo Toys, Vail Resorts Echo, and other businesses.
The second of the three races begins at 2 p.m. from Main Street Station. FirstBank of Summit County is sponsoring this Business Battle Duck Race, where little yellow swimmers purchased by local organizations and businesses, will compete for a private group snow cat experience on Chicago Ridge, among other group-oriented prizes.
And finally at 3 p.m., the Grand Lodge on Peak 7 Great Rubber Duck Race will send nearly 10,000 little quackers from Main Street Station streaming for the finish line at the Riverwalk Center. Fabulous prizes will be awarded to a minimum of the top 50 ducks, including a week-long vacation at a destination chosen by the winner.
Adopt your ducks online at summitfoundation.org or at various locations around Summit County beginning the first week of August. Thousands of dollars worth of prizes will be awarded ….even a prize for the slowest duck.
This event would not be possible without the generous support of our sponsors, donors, volunteers, board members, staff, and of course all of our duck participants. Thank you to our River Spot Sponsors: Climax Molybdenum, PeakOne Surgery Center, Vail Resorts Echo, and Vail-Summit Orthopaedics.
Help us make this a race to remember by signing up to sponsor, volunteer or donate a prize. Call 970.453.5970 or email Elisabeth.
