Elisabeth Lawrence: Events and Marketing Coordinator

As a child, Elisabeth Lawrence tagged along with her mother to countless non-profit board meetings, volunteer opportunities, and community service events.  Through her actions, her mom instilled in Elisabeth volunteering as more than a choice, it was a way of life. 

The Summit Foundation is now blessed by such an upbringing.  Elisabeth has brought her life-long love of community service to The Summit Foundation as Events and Marketing Coordinator. 

While studying Political Science at Arkansas State University, Elisabeth interned in the Athletic Marketing Office.  Her job involved soliciting donations, obtaining sponsorships and managing events for the Indian Club, which supported Division 1 student-athletes.  Through that experience, Elisabeth realized her passion for fundraising through event planning.  Her journey led her to Breckenridge for what she thought would be a ski season. 10 years later, she is immersed in the community. 

Elisabeth’s initial years in Breckenridge were spent working in retail – even owning a shop on Main Street, Cookin’ Cowgirl, for two and a half years.  More recently, Elisabeth was the Regional Marketing Coordinator for Alpine Bank for four years.  In addition, she has sought leadership roles in our community, with a primary focus on education – serving on the Board of Directors for Carriage House and as the PTA President for Upper Blue Elementary School.

Her notable volunteer service, tremendous network, and true passion for events are an asset in her new role at The Foundation.  “Elisabeth brings a great network and energy to this role at The Summit Foundation,” Director of Development Kasey Geoghegan noted. “We are so honored to have her enthusiasm.”

A long-time volunteer and contributor to The Summit Foundation, Elisabeth knows and loves the events hosted by The Foundation and looks forward to now ensuring their success.  Elisabeth lives with her 6-year-old daughter Zoe in Breckenridge.  

In March, Jennifer Stein accepted a position with National Parks Service – a job she has sought since she was a little girl.  The Summit Foundation wishes Jennifer the very best in following her dream career.

Terri Johnson: Database and Accounting Administrator

The Summit Foundation welcomes a long-time volunteer, Terri Johnson, as Database and Accounting Administrator.  Terri has volunteered with The Foundation since its inception in 1984 when the office was run out of a trailer in the dirt parking lot at Peak 8.  

Terri began her career in the accounting department at the Breckenridge Ski Area.  She worked her way up the ladder – eventually working for the Japanese parent company, where she was responsible for the financial reporting of six subsidiaries of the company, all of which were associated with various resorts.

Following a brief stint in accounting at Keystone Resort, she landed a job working at Western Pipeway, a local construction company and long-time contributor to The Foundation.  Terri loved that job – exemplified by her 16-year tenure there – and the challenges that came with working in the construction industry of western Colorado.  It was a fast-paced office where she learned more accounting and financial skills that will assist her in her position at The Foundation.

“We are pleased to have Terri join our staff at The Foundation,” Executive Director Lee Zimmerman said.  “Her financial background combined with her knowledge of this community, as well as her connection with The Summit Foundation’s donors and events from her lengthy tenure volunteering make her an asset to us in this position.”

Terri is a Colorado native, born in Denver, and moved to Summit County in 1974.  She and her husband Brent raised two children, both of whom received scholarships from The Foundation.  Their daughter is now a nurse at a hospital in Fort Collins, and their son lives in San Francisco and works as a superintendent at a private golf club.  Terri enjoys spending time with her growing family. 

Since 2008, Amy Priegel has been pursuing her Masters in Accounting and Business Administration and recently secured her career goal position – working in tax accounting with Alpine Accounting Services in Breckenridge.  The Summit Foundation wishes Amy the best in her new career.
